Comparison between different pavement types
Normally most of the rainwater percolates into the soil, and only a small part flows on the surface until it reaches a watercourse.
In developed areas only a small part of the rainwater percolates through the remaining permeable surface, while most of it flows on the surface and is then conveyed to artificial watercourses.
